On December 4, 2018, Afghan diplomatic delegates of China-U.S Joint Training Programs visited the Chinese Embassy in the United States. Counselor Zhang Yan, welcomed the delegates and gave an update on China’s diplomacy, China-U.S. relations, and China-Afghanistan relations respectively. She also exchanged views on issues of mutual interests.

The Afghanistan guests expressed their gratitude for the warm hospitality rendered by the Chinese side and found the discussion very helpful and inspiring, adding a new perspective for their understanding of China's diplomacy, China-Afghanistan relations and China-U.S relations. After the discussion, the guests toured the chancery building and enjoyed some artworks of the Embassy.
