Chinese vice premier meets U.S. guest(08/21/08)

  

   BEIJING, Aug. 21 (Xinhua) -- Chinese Vice Premier Hui Liangyu met here Thursday with Arthur Schneier, president of the Appeal of Conscience Foundation of the United States, who was here to attend the closing ceremony of the Beijing Olympics.

    Hui appreciated Schneier's efforts for boosting the mutual understanding and friendship between Chinese and American peoples.

    The two sides exchanged views on Sino-U.S. relations and religious exchanges and cooperation between the two nations.

    Hui also briefed Schneier the situation of China's social and economic development and the Beijing Olympics.

    Schneier is here at the invitation of the Chinese People's Institute of Foreign Affairs.
