On the afternoon of November 14, 2023 local time, President Xi Jinping arrived in San Francisco of the United States by special plane for a China-U.S. summit meeting and the 30th APEC Economic Leaders' Meeting at the invitation of U.S. President Joe Biden.

When he arrived at San Francisco International Airport by the special plane, Xi Jinping was warmly greeted by Governor of the State of California Gavin Newsom and Treasury Secretary Janet Yellen, among other U.S. representatives.

When Xi Jinping's motorcade drove from the airport to the hotel, many people of Chinese origin, overseas Chinese and representatives of overseas Chinese students lined the streets to  warmly welcome President Xi Jinping, waving the national flags of China and the United States.

Cai Qi, Wang Yi, and other members of the entourage arrived on the same plane.

Chinese Ambassador to the United States Xie Feng also greeted President Xi Jinping at the airport.
